> L'Art dans le Monde 2000 < Exposición organizada por Beaux Arts Magazine y el Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (MAM/ARC), en el Pont Alexandre II de Paris>< Delegación española formada por el comisario Santiago Olmo y los artistas Francisco Ruiz de Infante y Antoni Socías>< Septiembre – Noviembre 2000>< Como parte del programa Fêtes de la Seine, se ha abierto un nuevo lugar de arte parisino en un espacio abovedado debajo del puente Alejandro III, escribe Robin Wilson. Actualmente, este es el hogar de >L'Art dans le Monde 2000<, una iniciativa de la revista Beaux Arts para reunir una mezcla ecléctica de trabajos de 100 jóvenes artistas de 50 nacionalidades nominados por 24 revistas de arte de todo el mundo. Los involucrados incluyen Bang (Tailandia), Atlantica (el Caribe) y Tavoos (Irán). Completado en 1900 para la exposición internacional, exteriormente el puente es un llamativo producto de la Belle Époque. Sin embargo, el arte ha sido colocado dentro de los volúmenes estructurales de la ingeniería de Resal y Alby, en espacios de una enorme sencillez industrial. Simbólicamente, esta reutilización marca un cambio importante en la ecuación entre el arte y su contexto arquitectónico. El puente fue construido para dar servicio a dos salas de exhibición, el Grand Palais y el Petit Palais. El arte habita ahora el espacio invisible, el subproducto de la teatralidad urbana del siglo XIX.

Torie Begg represents British interests with the piece Fuckloveallyouneedisagreatpairofshoes___Completed in 1900 for the international exhibition, outwardly the bridge is a gaudy product of the Belle Epoque. However, the art has been placed within the structural volumes of Resal and Alby's engineering, in spaces of an industrial plainness. Symbolically, this re-use marks a major shift in the equation between art and its architectural context. The bridge was built to serve two showcase exhbition halls, the Grand and the Petit Palais. Art now inhabits the invisible space, the by-product of the nineteenthcentury's urban theatricality.
